Admission for MBA, MHRM, MCA & MSW 2010-11 batch started

"De NOVO' 09"

The Social Work Department of DIST, is organizing a South India Social Work Meet "De NOVO' 09" on November 13th and 14th. The theme for the meet is 'Environmental Issues' with the motto “Be a Friend of Nature and Have a Friendly Nature" De-Novo will have participants from different colleges and universities in South India. As part of the meet we are organizing a seminar, discussions, various competitions and a meeting venue for professional social work practitioners and academicians.

13th November - Friday

11.30 - 01.00 p.m            - Seminar

01.15 - 02.00 p.m            - Lunch Break

02.00 - 03.15 p.m            - "Insieme" (Venue 2)

                                      - Theme show "Kriyatmak" (Venue 1)

03.15 - 03.30 p.m            - Tea Break

03.30 - 04.00 p.m            - Concluding session of  "Insieme"

04.00 - 06.00 p.m            - Project Proposal "Avishkaar" (Venue 3)

06.00 - 08.30 p.m            - Folk Dance "Jhanak" (Venue 1)

08.30 - 09.30 p.m            - Dinner

09.30 - 10.30 p.m            - Cultural Programme

10.30 p.m                   -  Sleep Tight

 

14th November - Saturday

DE NOVO'09 - Rules & Regulations of Competitions

 

1. Street Play (Yatharth)

A team of 7 to 10 members (maximum) from each college including the assisting artists.
Time limit - 10 minutes.
Theme - Preserve nature to preserve the human race.
Medium of language - English/Malayalam.

2.Traditional Folk Dance (Jhanak)

A team of 7 to 10 members (maximum) from each college including the assisting artists.
Time allotted for each team is 8 minutes including stage arrangements.
Necessary properties (eco friendly) can be used for stage and background setting.
Grace marks will be given for costumes and stage arrangements.
Back ground music is permitted

3. Theme Show (Kriyatmak)

A team with maximum 8 and a minimum of 5 members from each college.
Time allotted for each team is 8 minutes (6 minutes presentation and 2 minutes for stage arrangements).
The theme is ‘preparing our children for eco-friendly future’
The team can present the show in any form of art like drama, mime, dance or a mix of these.
Participants can use the necessary properties and musical instrument for the show.
Medium of presentation should be in English/Malayalam.

4. Issue Presentation (Dhaarana)

A team of 2 members from each college.
Medium of presentation should be in English.
General theme is environmental issues and the specific topic will be given   before one hour of competition.
The participants can bring scraps, materials etc. for presenting issue.
There will be three rounds in the competition.

 

5.  Project Proposal (Avishkar)

The topic will be given before 15 minutes.
Fair copy of the project should be submitted within 2 hours.
The participants should bring the writing materials, only paper will be provided.
Medium of presentation is English.


6. General Rules & Regulations

For clarifications the group leader can approach programme coordinator.
Registration will be closed on 13th November at 11.30 am.
Exceeding the allotted time will be considered as disqualified.
Participants are expected to maintain strict discipline and follow the instructions of the programme committee.
The decision of the judges will be final.
Students are directed to use the badge or the ID card when they are in the campus
