Courses Offered
The M.Com Finance Program is designed with the purpose of generating in the student’s mind, a comprehensive understanding of the role of financial decisions in the growth of the society, both at micro and macro level. The M.Com Postgraduate programme of M G University follows the Credit Semester System. There are four semesters in the entire course, with two semesters each year. Each semester will have 90 instructional days. There are 5 papers in each semester and one project and comprehensive viva voce at the end of the last semester. The papers in the first three semesters will constitute the core element common to all students who undergo the same course and the papers in the final semester will be the optional component. Every student shall be evaluated by 25% internal assessment and 75% external assessment.

The job opportunities for a commerce student, whether at the UG or PG level, are immense both in its reach and magnitude. The need for Computerized Accounting Professionals is estimated to double within the next three years. Similarly, a career in banking, auditing, taxation etc is looking highly lucrative and with the right mix of attitude a student can achieve newer heights in any of these sectors. The School opens tremendous opportunities for its students through on the job training, career development programs and placement drives.
he undergraduate programme of MG University follows the choice based credit semester system as envisaged by the University Grants Commission and higher education council of Kerala. The programme shall be completed in six semesters. Each semester is a minimum of 18 instructional weeks comprising 90 working days with continuous internal evaluation and university examination at the end of each semester. The internal and external examination shall be evaluated using direct grading system based on five point scale. The Internal Evaluation of the course is done using an integrated grading system based on Attendance, Internal Assessment, Assignments & Seminars etc. Students have to complete a total of 120 credits which consists of Common Courses, Core Courses, Complimentary Courses and Open Courses. Each type of course has its own relevance in the entire scheme of things. Assignment and Seminars for each paper, a Project Work, one month on the job training etc are part of the curriculum. The Computer Application Stream includes IT for Business, IT for Office, Computerized Accounting, DBMS etc. Along with this the school offers relevant add on courses for the overall development of the students.

- M.Com - Finance
Eligibility
Admission to M.Com is limited to students who have passed in B.Com examination of MG University or of any other University recognized by MG University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
Admission Process
Out of a total of 27 seats, admission for 50% of seats will be done through MG University PG Centralized Allotment Process (PGCAP) and the other 50% will be through Management Allotment. Admission to Management Quota is selective and is based on the merit and interview ranking. Application forms can be acquired from the college office or can be downloaded from the web site.

Admission to B.Com Degree Programme will be open only to candidates who have passed the plus-two of the Higher Secondary Board of Kerala or Pre-Degree of Mahatma Gandhi University or that of any other University or Board of Studies in any state recognized as equivalent to the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board of Kerala, with not less than 45% marks in aggregate, is eligible for admission. However, SC/ST, OBC, and other eligible communities shall be given relaxation as per University rules.

Out of a total of 50 seats, admission for 50% of seats will be done through MG University UG Centralized Allotment Process (UGCAP) and the other 50% will be through Management Allotment. Activities
Student leadership and engagement is an integral part of the teaching – learning process of the School. This is ensured by by designing and implementing activities where students participate from the stage of concept generation to the stage of evaluation. This helps the school to properly integrate and channelize the creative energies of the students to enhance the quality of the teaching – learning process. Some of those activities planned and implemented regularly are listed below:
Commerce Association
Club Beta, the Commerce Association works to ensure student participation and involvement in all the affairs of the School. The association also organizes many events like Debate competition, Trade fair, Painting competition etc.
Industrial Visits
To give students sufficient exposure to the world of industry, Industrial visits are being arranged at appropriate occasions.
On the Job Training
Students get to be part of a live working environment/ project in a reputed firm for a period of one month in between their 4th and 5th semesters. It offers a real experience to the students in their functional area.
Study tour
This is arranged to provide students with a tacit experience of complex, large scale manufacturing processes.
Placement & Career Guidance
This is a comprehensive program to build up skills that are necessary to make students industry ready and to prepare them for their campus interviews.
Coaching Program
The school offers to prepare students for Chartered Accountancy, MAT, NAC-NASSCOM, Bank Coaching etc as per the requirements.
Certifications
Training is given to help students gain certifications like Tally, Microsoft Certified Professional.
Social Outreach Program
Through the activities of NSS and DES (Depaul Extension Services), Students achieve an in depth awareness of social problems and the leadership skills necessary to solve them.
