School of Computer Science

School of Computer Science had its beginning in 2002 with the objective of helping students harvest the benefits of the IT revolution that swept through every facet of modern human life for the past two decades. Our whole effort is in helping students become Industry Ready while they complete their degree with flying colours.

The mission of the school is to persistently strive for achieving excellence in computing disciplines. Our courses enable the students to be updated on the latest revolution in technology and equip them with the required skills and knowledge to be industry ready. The sustained effort is to produce computing graduates with potential to design and develop systems involving the integration of software and hardware devices. However, this by no means limits our graduates in their choice of career: like other courses at DiST, it is training in logical thought and expression, and can lead to employment in many different fields. A sound understanding of mathematical ideas is needed throughout the degree, both for potential applications such as scientific computation, and for reasoning rigorously about the specification and behavior of programs. Practical skills must also be developed, and the majority of subjects within the course are linked with practical work which contributes marks towards the final examination.

The following are some of the distinguishing features of the school

  1. One of the Pioneering Schools in computer education in Kerala
  2. Industry Interaction forming the core of the approach
  3. Add on Courses and Certifications designed to make the student industry ready
  4. Highly Effective Training & Placement Program
