Skill Enhancement : Life Skill

We at DiST take special care to enhance students’ Life-Skill. Various workshops are organized to train the students and make them self-sufficient, responsible and adopt positive life choices. The training is based on the 10 Life skills suggested by the UN which are Self-awareness, Coping with stress/emotions, Effective communication, Interpersonal relationships, Empathy, Creative thinking, Critical thinking, Problem solving and Decision making.

In addition to this, our MSW students do conduct Life skill trainings for adolescent clubs and other youth groups. This equips our students to develop healthy relationships and positive self-concepts. It enables them to make responsible and informed choices thus promoting healthy lifestyles.

Skill Enhancement : Value Education

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” (Aristotle). In today's fast paced competitive world, human beings seem to have compromised on his values, integrity and character, in a bid to earn, use and possess more and more of material wealth. As a result, we see rampant corruption, unlawful activities, inhuman behavior and immoral consumption, which is slowly breaking apart the very structure of our society, nation and the world. Cut throat competition to achieve material success has made human beings mechanical. Results of such unhealthy race in life can be seen in terms of insecurity, distrust, disrespect to people, property and nature, lack of fellow feeling, lack of honor for human values etc. leading to discontent and maladjustment in personal and social life and finally leading to drug abuse, maladjustment and even suicide among students -our young adults. Hence people across the globe are looking towards the system of education to infuse human values among the students so that the world remains as a place of peace, security and prosperity Our aim of Value Education is to create an awareness about the significance and role Values and to facilitate moral and spiritual growth of the student community.

In addition to this, our MSW students do conduct Life skill trainings for adolescent clubs and other youth groups. This equips our students to develop healthy relationships and positive self-concepts. It enables them to make responsible and informed choices thus promoting healthy lifestyles.
