In today’s highly competitive business and technology driven environment, Business secrets are no more secrets, any business can mimic or imitate the process, systems and technology if they possess matching resources. The only thing the competitor cannot imitate is the Human Resource so the roles and responsibilities of Human Resource professionals have become increasingly critical to corporate success. Human Resource Management (HRM) professionals must understand human resource issues and management trends in a competitive global economy as well as a broad spectrum of state and federal employment legislation. The MA(HRM) program is specifically customized to equip students with the tools necessary to effectively meet the challenges of an ever-changing business climate.


Human Resource professionals handle the vital role of acquiring, managing, compensating and maintaining them motivated and productive is the responsibility of the Human Resources Department. So HR function has become so strategic and critical in Business organizations. Molding them as competent HR professionals has also become increasingly challenging. The legacy of more than a decade and experienced faculty members, tailor-made transforming activities and a very strong industry linkage make MA(HRM) course of DiST really unique. Duration of Program

The two-year full time MA(HRM) programme of Mahatma Gandhi University is offered under semester system. It spread over four semesters. During the second semester, a student has to spend four weeks in a reputed business organization for internship. During the fourth semester the students are required to do a project work in HR domain. The total duration of this project study is 8 weeks. Project work shall be done in a reputed business organization.

  • To develop communication, interpersonal skills and leadership qualities to work in and with teams in organizations.
  • To develop competencies and business acumen required for a global HR professional in a multicultural context.
  • To develop in them a genuine concern for society and environment to take right decisions in business context.


A pass in any Bachelor’s Degree Examination of Mahatma Gandhi University or an equivalent degree of any other Universities duly recognized by Mahatma Gandhi University with not less than 55% marks in Science & Technology subjects and 50% marks in other subjects in the aggregate for all parts of examination or a Master’s Degree examination with 55% marks in aggregate. The Reservation Rules are applicable as per the Government norms. An interest in Business and capacity to influence people are strongly recommended.
