Over these two decades of its existence, DIST has embraced a system that caters to the holistic development of its student community. It has nurtured and promoted academic as well as non-academic domains through different platforms. DiST clubs is one such venture and DiST CYCLING CLUB is a part of that. DiST CYCLING CLUB serves as a platform for students to practice bicycle commutation and bicycle ride for health care as well as awareness drive.
We envision the enrichment of mental and physical health of our students by bringing them together.
Inculcate cycling habit among college students by bring equity among students by breaking the barriers of rich and poor & To stay active and keep the wieght off.
Any student of DIST (both UG and PG) can be part of the club by filling out a registration form. Their membership will be valid for the entire period of their study in DiST. If any student wishes to cancel their membership, then a request letter in writing has to be submitted to the faculty coordinator. Membership is free as of now. If for any purpose any financial need arises then the same shall be submitted to the management and after getting approval the decision may be modified accordingly.
A general body meeting of all the members of the club will be convened for electing the office bearers for the academic year. There will be a committee of 11 members. The duties and responsibilities of each office bearer will be communicated in writing. The office bearers are expected to function in consultation with faculty coordinators. The selection of members is done in a democratic style.
The student committee will be responsible for organizing all the meetings of the club. DiST Cycling club committee members should meet at least once a month and decide on the activities for the coming month and evaluate the performance of the previous month. Proper documentation and minutes of these meetings are to be maintained. The office bearers can be assigned the responsibility of organizing the monthly regular cycling programs for the Cycling club members. A monthly Cycle ride will be conducted with prior permission from the management. The club will take initiative to promote cycle commutation to college by students and faculty.
General body meeting of all the members may be convened if there is any special decision to be made or events have to be organized. All such communications will be made through the WhatsApp group and representatives of cycling club members in each school.
