DIST Yoga club have formed to enhance the physical and mental health of the students. Yoga always enables good health for the practitioners. It will strengthen the ability of grasping power and provides good concentration. Students those who practice yoga every day will be very focused in their dailylife.

The yoga club at DIST enhances the mental and physical health of the students. We associate various programs with enriching the inner strength among the club members. The weekly classes in the yoga room train the students regarding various asanas, yoga posters, meditation techniques, etc. We also teach the importance of yoga in our daily lives.

De Paul Institute of Science and Technology (DiST) organized ‘De Spectra’ –the formal inauguration of various clubs in the college and celebration of Kerala Piravi Day on 1st November 2023. The investiture of the office bearers of the club took place on that day. Member students of the club staged a spectacular series of yoga formations as part of the celebrations.
The club organised a series of Yoga Awareness Classes for the first-year students. All the students who took admission in 2023, both the UG and PG, participated in the programme. The sessions took place on 4th September 2023 and 18th October 2023.
Yoga master Mr. Jaigi Samagra delivered the awareness talk. The speaker emphasized the role of yoga in the mental and physical wellbeing of the students. He explained to the students how yoga enhances the faculty of concentration and thereby can be helpful in their academic as well as personal life. The session included demonstration of some of the basic asanas in which all the students took part.
The DiST Yoga Club celebrated this year’s International Yoga Day in association with the NSS unit of the college on 21st June 2023 at De Paul Auditorium. The programme commenced with a prayer sung by Ms. Abila Little Flower of BA ECJ ’21. NSS Programme Officer of our college, Ms. Anju V. Nair welcomed the gathering. Vice Principal, Fr. Mathew Malieckal VC delivered the presidential address.The dignitaries and student representatives lighted the lamp.
Mr. Libin Joseph of BA ECJ ’21 proposed the vote of thanks. After the meeting a talk cum demonstration session, led by Rev. Fr. Baiju Varghese, took place.
