De Paul Institute of Science & Technology, Angamaly (DiST), approved by AICTE New Delhi and affiliated to M G University, Kottayam has made its mark in the educational landscape of higher education in Kerala since its inception in the year 2002. Over these two decades of its existence, DIST has embraced a system that caters to the holistic development of its student community. It has nurtured and promoted the academic as well as non-academic domains through different platforms. DIST clubs is one such venture and DiST Nature club is a part of that. DiST Nature club serves a platform to sensitize, create awareness, motivate and educate students about environment conservation and to arouse general awareness among the students regarding the different environmental problems.
DiST Nature club is a platform that is open to all the undergraduate and postgraduate students of DIST. Those who are interested in eco-friendly activities can join the club. The activities of DiST Nature club are at two levels- internal and external. At the internal level awareness programmes, observation of environment day etc are conducted for club members and the students of DiST. At the external level Nature club camps are organized for club members.
The Nature club which is aimed at creating general awareness among the students regarding the different environmental problems and for an appreciationof nature among students.
To make the students aware about the grave situation of nature and means for its conservation. By creating awareness on global environmental challenges and developing means to overcome them. Organizing various eco-friendlyactivities.
Any student of DIST (both UG and PG) can be part of the club by filling out a registration form. Their membership will be valid for the entire period of their study in DiST. If any student wishes to cancel their membership, then a request letter in writing has to be submitted to the faculty coordinator. Membership is free as of now. If, for any purpose any financial need arises, then the same shall be submitted to the management and after getting approval the decision may be modified accordingly.
A general body meeting of all the members of the club will be convened for selecting the office bearers for the academic year. There will be a committee of 11 members. The duties and responsibilities of each office bearer will be communicated in writing. The officer bearers are expected to function in consultation with faculty coordinators. The selection of members is done in a democratic style.
The student committee will be responsible for organizing all the meetings of the club. DiST nature club committee members should meet at least once in a month and decide on the activities for the coming month and evaluate the performance of the previous month. Proper documentation and minutes of these meetings are to be maintained. The activities of DiST Nature club is at two levels- internal and external. At the external level awareness programmes, observation of environment day, etc. are conducted for club members and the students of DiST. At the internal level Nature club camps are organized for club members.
General body meetings of all the members will be convened if there is any special decision to be made or events have to be organized. All such communication could be made through the WhatsApp group.
