Snehaswaram is the students club of De Paul Institute of Science & Technology, Angamaly initiated by DES & School of Social Work.

This venture mainly aims for the welfare of senior citizens who were ignored by their dear ones. They want to be heard, ears to which they could open up themselves. We give our service by phone and also by visiting them on special occasions. Through a phone call every day, our volunteers make a good rapport with them and try to make them mentally strong and happy.

To make Older persons brought into mainstream by focusing on their issues and encourage them to make happy in their life.

There are number of senior citizens are increasing day by day. Most of them are ignored by their dear ones. They actually crave for being there with the people they love. They want to share their feelings and need, no material goods. All they need is ears that are ready to listen out to them. Ears to which they could open up themselves. Bringing a smile on their faces is the sole aim of this venture and we are very much looking forward to accomplish it.

1. To providing accessible, affordable and high quality long- term comprehensive and dedicated care services to an ageing population
2. To ensure the physical and psychological wellbeing of the aged peoples
3. To conduct frequent researches in the area of aged population
4. To make a purposeful platform for student volunteers

The project has four levels of implementation through four sub committee

Beneficiary identification committee

The Beneficiary identification committee will collect the application form for considering beneficiary. From the collected applications the committee will verify the application based on verification and selection criteria for beneficiary identification.

Volunteers Identification committee

The Volunteers identification committee will collect the application form for considering as Volunteers. From the collected applications the committee will verify the application based on verification and selection criteria for Volunteers identification. Based on the selection the volunteers will get instruction, guidelines and training session for doing their voluntary service.

Implementation, monitoring and evaluation

The Implementation, monitoring and evaluation committee will provide assigned duties for volunteers and based on the need and requirements. Then based on the criteria for monitoring and evaluation the committee will do the monitoring and evaluation.

Documentation committee

Documentation committee consist of four members. Documentation has played the most significant role and it is the important side of project. Documentation committee make reports on every event’s and activities that have done in the project.

1. Voice of love daily telephone call to socially isolated and noninstitutionalized senior citizen
2. Thoovalsparsham - visiting institutionalized senior citizen and spending a day with them
3. Santa visit - visiting beneficiaries in their home and sharing the love of Christamas.
4. Grant Parents day celebration in College.
