Angamaly, April 7, 2025 – The De Paul Institute of Science & Technology (DiST) marked a significant milestone in its journey toward international academic collaboration with the visit of Professor Martin Drum, Executive Dean of the University of Notre Dame, Australia. The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering student and faculty exchange, joint research initiatives, and academic collaboration between the two institutions.
Professor Drum was accompanied by Professor Abraham Francis, Discipline Lead for Social Work, School of Arts and Sciences. The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Johny Mangalath, Principal of DiST, along with the Heads of Departments and faculty members.
The newly signed MoU opens a new chapter in the field of higher education at DiST, especially with the introduction of a twinning programme. This initiative will provide students with the opportunity to complete part of their studies at DiST and then transfer to the University of Notre Dame, Australia, to pursue further studies. It is expected to greatly enhance international exposure, academic experience, and global career prospects for students.
“This partnership with the University of Notre Dame, Australia is a step forward in preparing our students to be global citizens,” said Dr. Johny Mangalath. “We are proud to be creating new academic pathways that will open doors to world-class education and research opportunities.”
Professor Drum expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the shared commitment to academic excellence, social responsibility, and holistic education. “We look forward to a vibrant exchange of ideas, students, and faculty between our institutions,” he said.
The partnership reflects DiST’s growing role as a hub for international academic engagement and its dedication to providing students with transformative educational experiences
