Programme Overview

Integrated Master of Computer Applications

With the dynamic changes taking place in the software industry, the need for mathematically trained software professionals is growing day by day. To cope with this demand, the Department of Computer Science has introduced a 5-year Integrated MCA (combined BCA and MCA). This programme provides students with the facility to secure an MCA in 5 years immediately after their Plus Two.

Integrated MCA is a professional program recognized by AICTE. It is a full-time 5-year programme with 10 semesters. The programme features 43 theory papers and 15 lab papers, along with 2 projects (mini & main project), a programme viva, and 1 seminar presentation. Student performance is assessed through internal and model examinations, while a semester viva is conducted at the end of each semester to ensure academic excellence.

Programme Objectives

  • To train and develop students with strong industry knowledge to pursue careers in the IT Industry and to launch and manage their own projects.
  • The programme aims at inculcating essential skills as demanded by the global software industry through an interactive learning process, excellent teaching practices, and a research-oriented environment.
  • To bring unique solutions to problems by research and design through a broad range of technology domains.
  • This also includes team-building skills, audio-visual presentations, and personality development programmes.

Eligibility

A candidate seeking admission to the Integrated MCA programme must have a pass with not less than 45% marks in 10+2 level with Physics and Mathematics in X standard along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject/Accountancy any stream in XII standard.
