The Department won the overall Championship in the DiST Arts and Sports Fest for two
consecutive years (2018-2019 & 2019-2020). During the same period, Department also
became the Arts Champions of the College. A good number of students participated in the
M G University Fest and had ‘A’ grade performances. School of English publishes a
department magazine 'Lanterns', which gives a first-hand experience of publishing and
offers an avenue to exhibit their creative and journalistic talents. The students of the
department actively participate in Intra College & Inter College Fest and the University
Youth Festivals. The Faculty members of the department participate in various Faculty
development programmes, attend online courses and publish research papers.
- Ms. Anna Elizabeth Tom of BA English (2019-2022 Batch) secured 1st Rank in BA
English (Triple Main) 2022 Examination, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
- Mr. Jithin Joseph of BA English (2019-2022 Batch) wrote a poetry collection
titled “Pacha”. Mazhathulli Publications published the book in October 2021.
- Ms. Haritha Shaijan (2017-2020 Batch) secured 3rd rank in BA English(Triple
Main) 2020 Examination, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
- Ms. Anu Abraham secured 7th Position in BA English(Triple Main) 2017
Examination, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
- Ms. Mahalakshmi P.B secured 10th position in BA English(Triple Main) 2018
Examination, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
- Ms. Anjitha K.A, a student of BA English 2017 batch performed. Slam poetry at
several locations. Her poems were published in Kitab by Mathrubhumi as part of
Sharjah International Book Festival. She has been an Intersala Student Partner.
- Letter written by Rajath Sebastian was selected to be published from an All
India Competition conducted by the Human Resource Development Department of
India to commemorate Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
