DiST –JCU, Australia Students’ & Faculty Exchange Programme
De Paul School of Social Work has continuous student exchange programmes with James Cook University (JCU), Australia. Every year a team of more than ten JCU students along with faculty member stay in our campus and it enables our students and college to improve cultural competency and broader mind. Likewise, at least three students and a faculty from De Paul School of Social Work visit JCU for a period of one month and imbibe social work practices, learning and cultural perceptiveness from Australia. Ever since the collaboration between JCU and DIST, this exchange programme has been a high demand programme. Both JCU and DiST collaboratively support students and faculty members in accomplishing this programme. 2020 is a remarkable year in the history of school of social work as it is the 10th year of the collaboration between the DiST and JCU.
In the academic year 2019-2020, Faculties PETER JONES & SANDRA NANCY CROAKER along with 12 students Elysia Macrae Dickenson, Finola Chinami Rytkonen, Jolie Hunt, Teegan Fowler, Renee Anne Francis, Tiarne Jai Hickey, Chelene Groube, Jane Kearney, Kaylee Mckenzie, Sydnee Baskett & Atlanta Maree Gifford of James Cook University visited DiSt and participated in various exchange activites.They participated in Human right day celebration & Consulate meeting, They had home experience students home and agency orientation visits in Award Chalakudy, WSE, Bethsada and Daivadan. Nikitha Elizabeth Jacob, Neenu Elizabath M Varkey & Dhrusya Vijayan of MSW 2018-2020 batch along with faculty Anjana Vimalasery visited JCU in the year 2019.
